Twenty84 is looking for a dedicated and collaborative VP Market Risk Control to join our client's inclusive and welcoming team. This full-time VP Market Risk Manager role comes with an attractive salary of £110 - 120k and fantastic benefits including bonus, non-contributory pension, private healthcare, and flexible working style.

As a flexible Vice President Market Risk, you will oversee trading activity and ensure all significant market risks are appropriately understood, analysed and measured as part of the company's regulatory and enterprise risk frameworks. You will also provide oversight of market risk, ensuring all significant market risks and results are appropriately and accurately quantified and transparent to senior management.

To give you an idea of how this VP Market Risk Manager role would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do:

  • Provide effective market risk and valuation oversight of the global company trading desks operating within London
  • Develop an informed, independent view of current market conditions, the market risk of the desk's positions and the valuation parameters of the portfolio
  • Interact fluidly with the front office, including business heads and senior traders
  • Understand business strategies and provide an independent perspective on the market risk implications of crucial business decisions and reviews
  • Develop market risk and valuation policies for the International Fixed Income businesses and determine stress tests and scenarios that highlight key market risks
  • Analyse market risks of new product requests

The successful candidate for this VP Market Risk Manager role will ideally be experienced in fixed income. Additional desirable product knowledge includes debt capital markets (DCM), interest rates, credit markets, money markets and/or equity derivatives. An understanding of a financial institution's value at risk (VAR) and risk-weighted-assets measurements is also essential. Additional requirements include:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, economics, mathematics or another relevant discipline
  • Capital markets knowledge with experience in market risk and control functions, ideally about debt capital markets, interest rate markets, credit markets and FX markets
  • Robust organisational skills with the ability to work in a demanding environment and handle multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Advanced critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams, colleagues, partners and stakeholders at multiple levels
