Training and Competence Lead
Are you an experienced T&C professional with a passion for developing and mentoring top-tier financial advisers? We're seeking a dynamic and strategic Training and Competence Lead to take on a pivotal role within a fast-growing IFA business.
About the Role:
As the T&C Lead, you will report directly to the COO, holding key responsibilities for the operational running and strategic development of the T&C function. You will manage and mentor a team comprising a T&C Manager and two T&C Supervisors, overseeing the competence and development of 26 highly experienced advisers. This role offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to shape the future of the T&C framework within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Drive the development and enhancement of the T&C function, ensuring it meets both regulatory requirements and the business’s growth ambitions.
- Team Management: Lead and support your team of T&C professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Adviser Supervision: Directly oversee a portion of the adviser team, ensuring they meet competence standards through regular assessments and personalized development plans.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a robust T&C framework that aligns with FCA requirements, overseeing CPD records, fit and proper assessments, and adviser certification.
- Relationship Building: Establish and nurture strong working relationships with advisers and support staff, balancing commercial needs with regulatory responsibilities.
- Integration: Strategically manage the integration of newly acquired businesses and advisers, ensuring a seamless transition and adherence to company standards.

What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 3+ years in a T&C management role within an IFA business, with a proven track record of strategic T&C development.
- Qualifications: Level 4 qualification from the CII/CISI or equivalent is essential; Level 6 is desirable.
- Skills: Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FCA T&C requirements and the UK financial conduct regulatory framework.
- Attributes: High energy, proactive, and flexible, with a genuine passion for helping advisers achieve their development goals.
